Moving On was chosen as the winning submission for the Minot Symphony Orchestra's Young Composer Composition in 2023, and was premiered that March. It came to be after some internal struggles with deciding when it's time to move on from something. This could be a simple decision like replacing a set of headphones, or when to make changes in relationships or careers.

We all have things we wish to attain - oftentimes, however, the world has other plans. If you are like me, there are times where we despair or give up on the possibility of achieving these things.

In stark contrast to the thoughts driving A Longing Unattainable, this piece was driven by thoughts of strength and perseverance. It contains a strong drive and confidence that is heard through the continued use of melodic ideas throughout.
